Working post.... Comparing Rome to America.
- The use of Foreign soldiers and slave labor greatly contributed to Rome's fall. The soldiers cared little for Rome's ultimate cause and the slave labor meant the common man in Rome was unable to find a livable wage because he was competing with slaves.
In America you can see today the US is calling time and time again on allies to supplement the Bush Cause and those allies do not share his religious fervor. Corporations today are outsourcing american jobs and the common workers in america are unable to find jobs. This is hurting the american economy and in turn america.
It could also be said that foreigners USED to see america as a place to go and make something of your life. Now the majority sees it as a place to go and make slave wages doing menial service jobs. - Smaller population. Rome suffered many casulties from disease, war and famine and a declining birthrate did not help either.
- Oppresive government made the people rome fear the government more then their enemies.
- Stagnant economy.
- Lack of confidence in the government.
